One of the fun parts about summer is music festivals. Growing up you may have only heard about them or watched them on television. If you were lucky, and your parents gave you permission, you were able to attend them when they were in your town.
Music speaks to everyone
Music speaks to your soul. It is a part of our lives that helps us cope with the anxiety of daily life. It helps us rejoice when we celebrate high points of our lives. It is comforting in times of pain. It is no wonder that people all around the world listen to it on the radio to and from work and school. Many get a chance to surround themselves with it live at a stage setting.
Woodstock, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo
Just like times of the past with Woodstock and Lollapalooza, this summer in Tennessee, there is a huge music event called Bonnaroo that already has its large lineup of artists listed online. If you want to check out the talent from this concert series from past years, simply click on the year link. Last year, this concert festival made the innovative move to partner with MySpace. With bands link Eminem, Arcade Fire, Widespread Panic and Buffalo Springfield as acts, this festival is sure to be a hit.
Eminem to headline?
Since he started his free speech through music, Eminem has become a hip-hop artist who is hard to beat. Year after year, he is either coming out with new material or reinventing the way rap and hip-hop music plays on the radio. With several hits off his recent album, partnering up with some of the hottest talent like Rihanna was a smart move to boost his likability factor with music lovers of all kinds.
This year’s 2011 Grammy Awards had him nominated for several awards, where he won for best rap artist. According to the Chicago Tribune, “Eminem is rumored to be one of the headliners at this summer's Lollapalooza festival. Eminem will join Foo Fighters and Muse as three of the six headliners for one of the summer's biggest music festivals, which will again take place in Grant Park in Chicago (this time on August 5-7)”
Enjoy the heat of the summer. Enjoy the pools. Enjoy your BBQ. Just don’t forget to get your tickets online for the hottest concerts this summer!
